The Mallala Museum held an exhibition of wedding gowns from their collection during History Month May 2018. The event called "Down the Aisle - Wedding dresses through the years" featured 19 gowns displayed throughout the museum.

Barbara Davies of "Stone Farm" Grace Plains S.A. wore this gown when a bridesmaid at the wedding of her brother Lance Davies when he married Jean Freebairn of Alma in the Alma Congregational Church. Barbara's elegant crepe gown would be quite fashionable today. The bodice was cut on the princess line with gathers over the bust and a V neckline. The long gored skirt fell gracefully. The slightly gathered sleeves were darted into a tighter fit above the elbow. (Photo of bridesmaid dress, bodice only showing behind the brides dress)
